Digital Switchover (Disclosure of Information) Act

Key Benefits
The Act allows social security and other information held by public bodies to be shared with the BBC in order to assist the delivery of the Digital Switchover Help Scheme.

The Help Scheme has been established under an Agreement between the Government and the BBC Trust (CM 7118). The Scheme will provide equipment and practical help for people aged 75 and over or with a significant disability to help them manage the transition from analogue to digital-only television. This process of digital switchover takes place by ITV region starting in Copeland in 2007 and ending in 2012.
