Monday 17 November - MPs have backed a new system of scrutiny by Select and Grand Committees for each of the 8 English regions.  Leader of the House Harriet Harman presented the proposals on November 12 following recommendations by the Commons Modernisation Committee earlier in 2008.  For more information click here
